Tribal Message and Reading for August

"We would speak of the feeling of disaster that pervades the world, this sense of doom that pervades many people’s thoughts, the idea that you have no control over what’s happening. That somehow this is happening outside of yourself. We would remind you that you have created this, that it all comes from your thoughts. That all inventors, all creative people imagined before creating, that nothing just appears. All that exists has been manifested, therefore your world was thought into being by you and the generations before you and it is culminating in seeming destruction because many believe that is what is happening.
What if you believed that instead of destruction creation is the norm. That what seems to be falling away is actually a lifting up? That the intense energies coming to your planet are not here to blot you out but to bring you to heights of joyful, creative accomplishments? What if you were the architect of your future? What would you then do? How would you live your life? In sorrow? And regret? Or in joy and anticipation of the coming of a wonderful new future of possibilities unthought of before because you are imagining that which until now has been unimaginable?
Think of your computerized world, unimagined until just recently. Think of gay marriage unimagined until recently? Who imagined this?
You did. Congratulations. You are on your way. Do not take a detour into depression or hopelessness but instead forge ahead with an open heart of light.
We congratulate you on your progress so far. Call upon forces for help. We are here for you."

Tarot Reading for the Days Ahead
When I do a reading for you, I create the questions first and then draw all the cards, putting them face down before turning them over to read the answers. This way I am not affected by the preceding cards but can choose cards relying on guidance not ego.
Asking: What to keep in mind? What to imagine? King of Cups
This card is about being vulnerable but still able to master yourself and your surroundings .It’s about feeling deeply, powering through your heart. This is the power of a wholehearted ness.
Asking: How to open to this possibility? Three of Cups
This is a card of celebration of community. It’s about joining together with others in small groups in love and connection. So the idea would be if you open your heart you will not be alone, to start by opening up to just a few closet around you in close contact and focus on experiencing fun and joy with them. This makes sense. If we create lots of small creative loving connection eventually this will affect the larger community.
Asking: What forces could hamper our imagining? Five of Swords.
This card is about the mind and how we defeat ourselves and talk ourselves out of being in our hearts, being open and vulnerable. How we defeat joy. With our fears of what ifs and why we can’t and they are wrong and I am right and on and on.
Asking: What forces would help? The Fool
This is a card of true wholeheartedness, of leaping into the unknown, the untrod with great joy with no expectations only the idea of a benevolent universe. Because there is no expectation, there is no fear of failure, so all is good. We are all Fools deep down inside. We all want to love, we just let Fear and the expectation of pain keep us from leaping.
Asking: What can you as an individual do for the tribe? The Tower.
This is a card about tearing down the walls of fear and ego that separate us from each other. So you are being asked to be authentic, to be present with each other. You are asked to take the risk of moving beyond the usual, the scripted, to a place of just being. If you tear down your walls then you will be able to share with each other.
Asking: What can each of us do for ourselves? The Star
This card follows the Tower in the journey of the tarot. After the Tower all you have is yourself, your essence which is of the Cosmos itself. So instead of the limitations of a small you in the tower, you would now have access to the greater God Self. So what we can do for ourselves is to be as big as we already are, to realize our cosmic oneness, our interconnectedness with everyone.
Asking: What could be the probable outcome of us imagining together and joining forces?
Two of Cups
This is a card of love, of falling in love, with yourself, your neighbor, your spouse/partner again, your pets, children, the world… So the probable outcome is loving your existence. And if we could imagine this happening in the world, what might just happen?
WOW! What a reading. Even I, who knows how magical the tarot is, am blown away by this reading. Congratulations all! I asked that all our higher selves be with me for this reading and look at what they are telling us. To open our hearts, and see the strength and community that we can create by coming out of our towers of fear into our largess of the loving heart. We are being asked to trust the essence of who we are, Love. We are being asked to free ourselves from our prison of the fearful mind so that we may imagine a world of heartfelt connection.
I thank you all for this. You have lifted me up.

Descent of the Fool

(This is an article published in the Isis Scrolls/August 2011

Descent of the Fool

“Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.” (Robert Frost)

Once again, with the passing of the Summer Solstice, we begin the descent into darkness as the days grow shorter. Similarly the Fool of the tarot, symbolizing the soul, emerges from the ecstasy of oneness with the Cosmic All and willingly descends into the depths of matter as he travels the path of the Major Arcana, until finally after many trials and tribulations, he is able to fully manifest in matter with The World card.

Who else but The Fool would be willing to venture from joyous light into punishing dark year after year? Some of us choose to never go there, instead spending the winter in Mexico, or medicating our dark induced depression, but what would happen if we took the journey joyously as The Fool, with the purpose of awakening? What if we claimed our birthright as emanations of a Cosmic Mind who chose to descend and experience humanity? And why, you might ask, would I choose to venture forth out of light into evermore darkening matter? Is it the call of the grand adventure? A compulsion to explore? Or is this yearly trek into twilight just the condition of being human? That in order to grow we must explore our duality again and again using the dark as a way to comprehend the light? Or perhaps we need this hibernation for the juices of creativity to bubble and ferment, fertilization for what emerges in the spring? Or, is it all a cosmic test, the Cosmic Will calling us to our true Selves?

These are good questions to ask as our own planet, Gaia, seems to be descending into a chaotic, convulsive Sphere, as she attempts to emerge into light. To those who are not aware of the transformation taking place, the world could look very dark indeed, a descent into madness, a planetary shake down of apocalyptic fire, flood, and earthquake. But what if we could look at this descent into seeming chaos as part of the journey to the new world, that in order for creation there must be destruction, that the old must pass away to make room for the new, so that this time of “loss” is really a time for weeding out what is no longer needed for a new planetary system?

A Reading For the Last Half of the Year.

Question: How to Navigate the path of descent to the Winter’s Solstice of 2011?

(I have chosen as signposts along the way of descent, the Celtic Wheel of the Year)

Pull out your Fool and Wheel of Fortune cards. Create half the yearly Wheel, placing The Fool card at the top as June 21st, the longest day of the year, with the Wheel of Fortune card at the bottom, for the Winter Solstice, December 22nd the longest night of the year. Now, create the path of descent between these two cards.

Card 1, Summer Solstice: Choose one card for the question: What door opened for you at the summer solstice, what aspect of yourself needs to be explored in depth? Cross the Fool with this card

Card 2 - Luhnasadh, celebration of the Harvest, August 1. Choose a card for the signpost, we just passed. Ask: What have you harvested this summer that will warm you as you descend?

Card 3 and 4 – Autumn Equinox, halfway point, preparation for winter, September 23. Here you will find a signpost , pointing in two opposite directions for further descent. Ask : What two choices do I have for positive change? Notice which card is the stronger choice, the riskier one. Take that road.

Card 5 - Samhain, November 1, The time of year when the veil between worlds is the thinnest and we can commune with the dead. Ask: What must die that I may live?

Card 6 – We arrive at the Wheel of Fortune, Winter’s Solstice, December 22. Here long ago in colder climes it must have truly felt as though one were dying, that the sun would never return. And how did people manage? What kept them going? Ask: What will keep me going in my darkest hour? If this card appears negative, then open up its possibilities, shine your light of awareness upon it and see it as a contrast which will enable you to appreciate the next phase of sun and light. Choose helper cards for how to break through. Ask: How can I shift my thinking so as to not create this hole? What can I do to alleviate the heaviness of the inevitable?

Card 7 - The “We.” Question: How can I help in the dark days that have been prophesied for the planet? How can I be focused and purposeful rather than resistive and fearful?

It is time for us all to realize that we are in this together. That our troubles are part of the big picture, of a bigger dis-ease. That if we begin to take responsibility for our own healing, we can bring light to the larger issue of planetary and human healing. If we see that we are all descending together, arm in arm to our rock bottom to bring in the new earth, then the fear is not so great and we can emulate the Fool feeling the joy of this adventure of planetary shift and evolution. We can laugh and sing as we walk together, keeping the dark spirits at bay. We can build campfires to show others the way as we warm ourselves at the fires of our hearts, building community, knowing that together we can overcome and create a lighter space for us all.

July Tribal Message

July 1, 2011

These messages are my own search for a higher knowing and connection. Here is a transcript for the New Moon of July.

We are Here.

Welcome

We are here to speak about the beginning.

The beginning?

The beginning of the end of the known world.

And what does this mean?

It means you are evolving beyond your known.

Yes. I realize this. Do you have message for my tribe?

We ask you to begin to speak of your sorrow and your joy. It is time to release all within you all that has been pushed to the side, forgotten, released but not truly released, forgiven but still not forgiven. It is time to let go of old ways of being, of knowing, of communicating. Time to release the power within that truly knows.
When you say I don’t know how I feel. I don’t know what to do. I don’t know what to think. This is a falsehood. You do know. You understand but fear letting yourself truly know. The fear binds you to the old way of thinking about yourself and your circumstances If you can just let go Let go of the control of feelings , let go of controlled knowing, control of what others are doing, of what you think is happening in your world, you can begin to see the truth of the situation.
The truth is what brings the new earth, the new way of seeing and being for all
You who listen will lead the way. You who dare to take a stand for justice and truth, who dare to question the old hierarchies of power, who point out the flaws, you shall show the way for others too timid to allow themselves to know. Tear away the veil, allow yourselves to truly see, to feel the Earth as she writhes in her birthing process. It may feel painful. It may feel as though you will not survive her process but please, release, sit, listen and know the rightness of it all. We trust in your process, please trust in ours. The Masters.

Reading for the Tribe New Moon July 1, 2011
Using the Thoth deck

Where are we at this point? 9 of pentacles Gain
We are reveling in our existence in matter. Thinking of what we can have or gain. Though some may not feel it at this time, we are incredibly abundant in our material wealth. Enmeshed in the illusion.

What is being asked of us at this time? What is the theme of this new moon?
7 of pentacles Success unfulfilled
We are being asked to see the failure of material wanting. We are being asked to see how we are never satisfied, that there is never enough because we are looking in the wrong place for our sense of abundance. That fulfillment is not found in the material.

What is limiting us at this time? Five of cups Disappointment
Again we are only seeing what we lack; that which we have lost; that which we think we need. So we not able to feed ourselves with what is available within ourselves. We have a sense of disappointment in ourselves, others, the world our leaders.. it goes on and on.

How to dig ourselves out of this malaise and evolve with the planetary push?
Queen of Wands
Begin to get very comfortable with volatility, movement, Begin to tap into our creative answers to our seeming problems, to get excited instead of being in fear This queen is very comfortable sitting in the fire, in the hot seat. Change does not frighten her it only strengthens. She says, “Bring it on.”

Advice for us all in the coming month 10 of wands
You may feel oppressed by all that going on in your life right now. A sense of toooo much. Be aware that the sense of too much is because of our own self repression. It’s time to release and this month may see a build up of pent up energy that will need to be released. Be aware of this and let off steam a little at a time so you do not literally explode. Expand to contain the enormous amounts of light coming to the planet . Get bigger.

IN summary: In the midst of plenty, we tend to only see what is lacking and so are out of touch with our fertile imaginations. We need to infuse ourselves with our passion and determination to overcome the natural repression of societal and human fears. There is a huge amount of creative cosmic energy available to us at this time. Stop a moment every day and tap into it. Let it begin to feed your joy.
